  • The world's population has hit eight billion, just 11 years after passing the seven-billion milestone, the United Nations has said.

After a big surge in the middle of the 20th Century, population growth is already slowing down.

It could take 15 years to reach nine billion and the UN doesn't expect to reach 10 billion until 2080.

It's hard to calculate the number of people in the world accurately, and the UN admits its sums could be out by a year or two.

In first world countries. It’s third world countries that are rising in population.

    Ayo Olukoga says:

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Revelation 6:2-8

damn & we can barely manage as it is!…. hope the planet can support us, until we either wipe us idiots out, or are advanced enough to leave this planet!

This is mainly in very poor countries, where contraception isn’t readily available, and kids are more likely to die before reaching adulthood. If you’re living in a first world country, I don’t think have too much need to worry.

    RiseAgainstDisciple says:

Thank God for the successful vaccination program 🙂 it will fix this

    simon brown says:

Might be quite sweet then the world’s population starts to drop. There will be plenty of homes at a decent rate by then haha

    Lol Lol says:

it is stupid to be treating those born as the 8th billion or 6 billion etc babies as celebrities. Truth is the population was already 8 billion months ago as in tribal areas in many african and asian countries they don’t announce it and there is no way for sure you can just say this baby is 8 billion when they are born so frequently all over the world.
