We’ve lost our sovereign, the nation’s grandmother, and security blanket. This will NEVER be replicated. No monarch will ever be able to attain this sort of legacy.

    Rhetoricalmuse says:

@NO SWEAT! The british monarchy have no ‘hard political power’, oligarchy do. That’s a hell of a difference, let alone the public opnion of both.

    hello Banking says:

Legacy? The Queen had no leg injury!😁

    idenhlm says:

@Rhetoricalmuse Yes, we have already seen the extent of that particular kind of politics,. Oligarchs always detest the sovereign. Long live the King.

Only the Queen could get South Korea, China and Japan together in a room for a social occasion.

    Kiab Toom Lauj says:

@Edward Chamberlain All the other leaders, I sort of expected. But given how low profiled and private the emperor of Japan always has been — both he and his father before him — I was a bit surprised he showed up. That really said the old Queen was looked at by these powerful people as one of theirs and one of the last great ones from an age that would never be revisited…

    John says:

@Kiab Toom Lauj If I recall correctly, King Charles III attended his ascension to Emperor?

    Rae Mini Hopa says:

Being from the US, Queen Elizabeth II death feels like the loss of a distant grandmother… she’s always be there, and she had the ability to envelop the masses with calm when things were out of sorts. I find it unfortunate, that a woman who gave herself to her country so wholeheartedly, had to live through so much negative media scrutiny and intrusive blood thirsty attacks. I hope she’s left this mortal world knowing that the job she committed her entire life to doing, was a job very well done. May she rest in peace 🙏

    PMcCoy says:

Now is not the time. We fought a war over this is 1776. The British Monarchy is far from ‘clean’ and has done its fair share of pillaging and damage. Her Majesty did well. She meant well. Besides how she handled Diana and Andrew. Being Irish American with ancestry whom spilled blood in more than one occasion against them, I will never mourn for the monarchy. The people, the human side, no doubt I will.

    Erling Lea says:

    K31011 says:

Must have been intimidating for leaders to meet the Queen who’s first Prime Minister was Winston Churchill.

    Lynn L says:

Wow she was a very practical woman… scheduling so that every head of states have to take a bus except US and a few. Only her… can think of doing this and carry it out. Very practical woman who just knew that she had to carry on! What an example!

    Magic Mordecai says:

RIP to the Queen of Canada. She was our Queen for almost half of our nation’s 153 year old history. And we are immensely proud to have her as our sovereign and head of state. Long lived the Queen. Dieu protège le Roi! Great to see our Mounties leading the procession.

    ELA TV says:

    Orighomisan Dediare says:

Wow! The queen alone could have made these dignitaries conform to these humbling measures. We thank God her funeral was peaceful without drama. Though on large scale, it was a quiet reflective and dignified affair. No pomp and ceremony, just calm simplicity. Beautifully done

    Taoufik Mansouri says:

    RIP Queen Elizabeth.
She was the mother of the nation. It was no easy task to be a head of state for 70 years.

    Faith Murugi says:

Let’s thank our leaders for showing up in humility. Give honor where it’s due. They showed by example to us their subjects the essence of humility and celebration of another person in kind.
