    George Anderson says:

I think its defiantly the coaching staff not as much the players. When all of the young players are stagnant or regressing, it is on the coaches. If it was one or two, then maybe it's the picks when it's all its coaching. Why is Stingley playing zone and not man for example? the picks are solid they are not being prepared by their coaches to play professional football.

    mike wallace says:

I don't think Cesario has done a bad job getting players, its just his coaching hires have been horrendous ,but again we don't really know if that was him hiring the staff or Easterby, so if next year our whole new coaching staff doesn't see a massive improvement in the team than i think it would be time to criticize Caserio doing a bad job.

    Rick Sanchez says:

    Texans are tanking again

    Jeffrey Smith says:

When your top draft pick is not being utilized as a man coverage guy, that is uncalled for. Hiring Lovie Smith as the head coach isn't entirely Nick Caserio's fault, I don't think. No more retreads!

    Herman Carter says:

This is not on Caserio. Like y’all said coaching isn’t setting this team up for success.

    Rick Yeager says:

Funny how easily our fans forget !!! Mills was a 3rd pick. All the other rookies doing well right now are 1st rounders . The odds of a low QB selection working out is very very Low

    thebransnipeD says:

    Lovie needs to go

    SkyJW says:

The people calling for a new GM in the comments right now truly boggle my fucking mind.

The general treatment of Caserio as if he had a disastrous draft is quite possibly the surest sign that we have reached the nadir of reactionary sports fandom. Stingley has been solid in spite of the fact that he never gets to actually operate as a man corner. Pitre has been solid even with the dropped interceptions. Dameon Pierce is looking to be the best running back this team has had since Arian Foster. Christian Harris has looked good in the limited time we've seen him. Even Kenyon Green, who has clearly been struggling in pass protection, has been a big part of opening up the run game. That was his expertise coming out of college and everyone knew that his pass pro would need work.

It's honestly like people think he's David Gettleman in this comments section and on Twitter. FFS, I have even seen people claim that Bill O'Brien – the man singlehandedly responsible for imploding this franchise – was a better GM. All because David Mills (a 3rd round pick) didn't work at QB and because he could have selected another player other than Stingley or Green as if those two are total busts. The only thing I can really agree with against him are the coaching hires and even then I don't blame him for the Culley hire that much because nobody wanted the job with the complete dumpster fire this franchise was at the time. It wasn't like we had a litany of the best and brightest coaching minds interviewing for us and then we decided to go with Culley. Lovie has been disappointing, as has Pep. My hope is that they dump Lovie and hire DeMeco Ryans because it brings a newer football mind to the table AND it softens any potential PR blowback since he's an African American coach who was also a former player for the organization. Couldn't tell you who should take Pep's job, but he absolutely has to be gone after this season.

But, seriously, we all need to chill the fuck out. The Rockets have had back to back garbage seasons and are on track for a third, but nobody is claiming Raphael Stone should be fired because the pieces are clearly coming together. The Astros had multiple 100+ loss seasons in a row and now they're the best team in baseball. I'm not saying it's a lock that the Texans get to that level, but this was always going to get worse before it got better unless Mills turned into a bona fide steal and Pep Hamilton and Lovcie Smith spun straw into gold. Way too early to be calling for Caserio's head.

    JimBrownski says:

Y’all act like Lovie inherited a full cupboard . Bill Obrien is your enemy- NOT lovie. Other than the Raiders game and this- he’s had you competitive every week with ZERO talent outside Pierce, Kirk, and fountain of youth Jerry Hughes. Your Gm didn’t do him favors either. Smith deserves 1 last shot next year

    Isaiah Lemos says:

Not going to lie I would trade the 1st overall pick for a big overhaul so we can build are team even more better for the future. It helps that we could have 3 overall picks in the first round for at least two years.
In the 2nd round I'll draft the best overall QB and that will be the kid from Tennessee Hendon Hooker ( he torn his ACL) but that could be a good thing…. he can set his first year and let sorry Mills be a QB next year then after the 2023 season let Mills walk and let Hooker take over.

    Diego says:

Y’all need to blame the owner here. They’re tanking. They have lovie in place to do what they tell him to do & keep the first pick priority for next year. I assume we see Kyle Allen once we absolutely lock up the first pick. Lovie is already a successful coach, they needed a captain to go down with the ship and no one’s gonna hate lovie for not turning around the Texans
