The Venezuelans drew 1-1 with Brazil in their World Cup qualifying match for 2026 thanks to an overhead kick from Eduard Bello.

After halftime, Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes headed Brazil ahead from Neymar’s corner, but Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr had an offside goal disallowed.

Despite being five minutes away from the end, Bello netted spectacularly.

Brazil is second in South American qualifying after three games, behind Argentina, which has a 100% record.

With a brilliant goal from former Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi, Argentina defeated Paraguay 1-0 in Conmebol qualifying.

After only three minutes of the match in Buenos Aires, the 35-year-old scored his fifth goal in 106 international appearances with an acrobatic back-post volley.

Aside from striking the frame of the goal from a corner and a free-kick late in the game, Lionel Messi, who has been dealing with a muscle problem in recent weeks, came on as a 53rd-minute substitute for the 2022 World Cup winners.

The Uruguayans earned a 2-2 draw away to Colombia thanks to a late Darwin Nunez penalty in their next match on 17 October.

After a goal from James Rodriguez in the 35th minute, the Uruguayans equalized through Mathias Olivera shortly after the break.

Mateus Uribe restored Colombia’s lead, but Camilo Vargas was sent off in the 87th minute for fouling Maxi Araujo in the box, with Liverpool striker Nunez scoring the penalty.
