US business groups stand up for Israel after attack
US business leaders have expressed outrage and solidarity with Israel following Hamas’ deadly surprise attack.
A person familiar with the matter told LBC that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon pledged support for Israel on Sunday, instructing employees there to work remotely in the foreseeable future.
“This past weekend’s attack on Israel and its people and the resulting war and bloodshed are terrible tragedies,” Dimon wrote in a memo to employees on Sunday. Dimon said his company stands with our employees, their families, and the people of Israel during this time of great suffering and loss.
JPMorgan has about 230 to 240 employees in Israel, and is asking them to work from home for the near future, a source said. The news of JPMorgan’s plans was first reported by Bloomberg News.
All JPMorgan employees and travelers in the region were confirmed safe as of Sunday, Dimon said.
A Morgan Stanley employee in Israel has also been advised to stay home at this time, according to a source familiar with the matter.
According to a person familiar with the matter, Goldman Sachs has also instructed employees at its Tel Aviv office to work remotely.
“In the face of this shocking attack on the people of Israel, all of us at Goldman Sachs are thinking of you and your families,” Solomon wrote in an email to employees.
