In its Uber and Uber Eats apps, Uber now offers return package shipping through mail carriers.
With the “return a package” feature, customers can send up to five packages at once for a $5 flat fee or $3 for Uber One members. UPS, FedEx, or USPS drivers will pick up and deliver the packages.
Return a package is available in dozens of major metro areas across the country and will complement Uber Connect, which launched in 2020 as a same-day delivery service for local deliveries.
Prepaid and sealed packages must be ready to ship when they are shipped through Uber Connect. In addition, packages must weigh less than 30 pounds and be worth less than $100. Money, gift cards, and fragile items are prohibited from being delivered by Uber.
Uber customers can also track their packages with live tracking in the Uber app, which includes a photo of the receipt once the delivery has been completed.
For package deliveries, standard tipping options are available in addition to the flat fee.
