There’s a brand new breakfast item coming to Taco Bell
Taco Bell is synonymous with tacos, just perhaps not in the mornings. It’s finally changing now.
Taco Bell will begin serving breakfast tacos beginning October 12 for a limited time. Tacos include eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage, and potato, folded in a toasted tortilla for $1.49 each.
As fast food chains like McDonald’s and Wendy’s continue to increase competition, Taco Bell has promoted its breakfast menu in recent years. The company even enlisted comedian Pete Davidson to apologize for its past breakfast food flops, including the much-maligned Waffle Taco.
Since the ads aired, Taco Bell has praised the campaign and Davidson for the turnaround. Taco Bell teases that he will have a “hot take on the most important meal of the day” in new spots for the breakfast menu later this month.
Breakfast has become more important to Taco Bell since it returned to its menu in 2021 after a brief pause caused by pandemics. Despite this, the chain’s breakfast sales lag behind other chains, including McDonald’s, which accounts for about 25% of its revenue from breakfast. Previously, Taco Bell revealed that breakfast sales accounted for just 6% of its revenue.
For two days only, Taco Bell is bringing back its Taco Lover’s Pass subscription program in celebration of National Taco Day. Customers can purchase a $10 pass for a month’s worth of free tacos, including breakfast tacos. Tuesday is the beginning of the offer and Wednesday is the end.
