Suzanne Somers Threes Company actress dies aged 76
In a statement shared with media, her family gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday.

Somers was also an author and fitness guru.
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, she appeared in TV shows such as The Love Boat and One Day at a Time before landing the role of Chrissy Snow in Three’s Company.
After a pay dispute, Somers was fired from the show after five seasons.
She returned to on-screen acting in the early 1990s – taking on a lead role in Step by Step, which ran for seven seasons – after taking a break from on-screen acting.
She later hosted Candid Camera, hosted her own talk show, The Suzanne Show, and appeared on Dancing with the Stars. Also, Somers built up a multimillion dollar fitness empire, appearing in commercials for ThighMaster and ButtMaster exercise equipment and writing several self-help books about wellness and weight loss. In 2019, she launched her own beauty brand.
Her aggressive form of breast cancer was first detected in her 50s, and she announced on social media in July that it had returned after being in remission.
On Instagram, she wrote, “I know how to put on my battle gear and I’m a fighter.”.
According to her publicist, Somers will be buried privately next week, followed by a memorial in November.
Her husband and son survive her.
