Now the Somali army is making progress in driving out the extremist group.

Thanks to the USA for their support, but we need them also to support the initiative that we are going to stand our own feet, which means to train and equip our army, so that we can defend and control our country

    Mwaniki Mwaniki says:

@Eternal Bliss They weren’t useless… They were there to do their job. They shouldn’t lift a finger. When the Somali National Army is done being experienced enough, Amisom troops should come back. They have died over a cause that wasn’t theirs.

    Eternal Bliss says:

@Mwaniki Mwaniki  They aren’t doing it for free, they take hundreds of millions from the U.S. and EU in the name of fighting terrorism, they take triple the salary of a Somali soldier while neglecting one of the fundamental reasons why they are there which is to fight alongside the SNA. The Somali Army doesn’t have game-changing heavy weapons like attack helicopters, tanks, armored fighting vehicles and artillery due to the Weapons embargo imposed in 1992. As a result, the terrorist groups’ car bombs are having a toll on them, the heaviest weapons the SNA has are old soviet-era anti-aircraft guns like the Zu-23-2, Zu-23-4 aka Shilka, RPG7, 62mm and 82mm mortars which the terrorists also have, but the terrorists use suicide car bombs as a force-multiplier which gives them an edge in battles. ISIS in Iraq did the same things and devestated the Iraqi Army with suicide cars but luckily Iraq wasn’t under a heavy weapons embargo and used smart heat-seeking anti-tank missiles like the U.S.’s Tow, Germany’s Milan, Russia’s Kornet which obliterated suicide cars before they come anywhere near the troops. Lol sorry for my rant, I almost wrote an essay.😂

    Mwaniki Mwaniki says:

@UCKOqn19ef7JsGgraLxCSjOg I know all that. I am in the region. I live next door. The reason no one trusts Somalia with those is because of their misadventures in Ethiopia and planned misadventures in Kenya.

    Teenah Weenah says:

Somalia is the land of YOUTH. I believe Western Nations are exploiting Somalia because the median age in Somalia is 16.7 years. The median age in the USA is 38.3 years. The war on terror in Somalia can be viewed as: OLD FOLKS vs YOUTH.

    todd3205 says:

    All the best, Somalis.

    Mei Lin Chan says:

But that is prolly the West and China are pressuring KSA and Egypt to stop looking the other way. China wants both nations to stop giving ash-Shabab free rein in order to protect Ethiopia; the West is embarassed that Egypt supports ash-Shabab and fears that Egyptian experiments in obfuscating Ethiopia’s tinkering with the Nile are getting out of hand.

    Ishikawa Goemon says:

    Finally, some Hope in Somalia

    Sams Son says:

Sometimes, governments fail to care for their people, perhaps, there is an argument to be made that most governments don’t care for the people, but if you take down your government, make sure you have one better to replace it. Governing isn’t child’s play, and overthrowing your government isn’t a guarantee that your life will get better.
