In an interview with Priscilla, who helped turn Graceland into a tourist attraction, she said her parents were unable to comprehend how Elvis could be so interested in her.

“Elvis would pour out his heart to me. He would share his hopes, his fears, and his loss of his mother, and I was the one who sat there to listen and comfort him,” she said. Even though I was 14, I was older on the inside than on the outside.”

It was not sex. I never had sex with him. He was kind, very soft, very loving, but he also respected the fact that I was only 14. It was more in mind and thought, and that was our relationship.”

It was in 1967 that the legendary couple tied the knot, and in 1968 that they welcomed their only child, Lisa Marie. As Lisa Marie was nine years old when Elvis died in 1977, she took up music and carried on his legacy. She owes a great deal of her musical influence to her father.

Graceland became a top international tourist destination after Elvis’ death, thanks to Priscilla Presley Enterprises. It was left to Lisa Marie, Elvis’ only child, and held in trust until she turned 25.
