At a protest in Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital, an opposition presidential candidate was arrested.

Police took Jean Jacques Ratsietison away from journalists.

According to the opposition, Andry Rajoelina is being rigged in this month’s election.

There has been no comment from the electoral commission on the allegation.

Police have broken up several recent demonstration attempts.

There is a high level of political tension in Madagascar. During opposition protests last month, two candidates were injured, including former President Marc Ravalomanana.
