Somerset batter George Bartlett will join Northamptonshire ahead of the 2024 season on a three-year contract.

Across all formats, the 25-year-old has scored almost 3,500 runs, including eight centuries in first-class cricket.

Following Derbyshire paceman George Scrimshaw, Bartlett is Northamptonshire’s second signing for next year.

Northants head coach John Sadler called George another great addition to the squad.

With some good numbers already behind him, he joins us at the peak of his career.

In 2017, Bartlett made his County Championship debut, the same year he broke Nasser Hussain’s record for the highest overseas score for England under-19s by scoring 179 in a youth Test in India.

Following that, he hit his maiden first-class century and has made two so far this summer – 121 against Middlesex at Lord’s and 134 against Nottinghamshire at Taunton.

As a regular member of Somerset’s 50-over side, Bartlett did not add to his eight T20 Blast appearances this season.

“I hope to be a big part of the team,” he said.

I’m looking forward to playing all three forms and bringing some success to the team.”
