Liverpool won’t ‘fall off a cliff’ without Salah
Michail Antonio of West Ham says Liverpool wouldn’t “fall off a cliff” if Mo Salah left at the end of the season.
It is expected that the Saudi Pro League will continue to show interest in the Egypt forward in the upcoming transfer window.
West Ham striker Antonio has scored seven goals in nine Premier League games this season, but says fans shouldn’t worry about his form.
“I don’t think they would fall off a cliff [if Salah left]. It would be a massive miss, especially with all the goals he brings to the club, but I feel like if you do it right – and Liverpool have shown it in the transfer market – Liverpool definitely know how to buy a player.”
Since they have time now to scout and find a player that can gel with the squad, which they have done even this summer, he probably won’t be missed too much.
In football, you have to adapt constantly because football is constantly changing. That’s one thing you’ve got to do.”
“Football moves on and evolves so quickly that if he leaves, he’ll be heavily missed in the early transition period,” said Newcastle forward Callum Wilson.
When any player leaves a club for the first time, you notice the gap they leave. After Liverpool dropped Sadio Mane, it was noticeable for a while, but then they dipped into the market and found a hidden gem or player that few people knew or had seen, and they went on to make a significant impact.
You could probably buy two or three players for the money you get for one player who is over 30 now, so you’re definitely going to replace him more than adequately.”
