Shahrukh Khan starrer Jawan is set to hit the theaters and is already breaking records with its advance sales, and is now expected to set a new benchmark with its opening box office numbers too.

According to Girish Johar, Jawan will reach 100 crores on its first day of release, the 7th of September.

“The hype for the film is immense, which is why cinema operators are planning to add more screenings.”

According to Girish, “I am expecting a start of around $4-5 million overseas, which is around Rs 40 crore, and a minimum of Rs 60 crore in India.”

According to the ticket aggregator BookMyShow, 7.5 lac tickets have been sold in India. According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, “the overall scenario is very positive at the moment.”

The cinema is seeing a return in attendance, he said. I believe it has completely changed the whole situation in the last couple of months for those who thought Hindi cinema was dead and no one wanted to watch it. There’s no better time to be alive than right now.”

With his gang of girls, Shahrukh Khan fights for the country in Jawan, directed by Atlee. In addition to Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, the film also stars South Indian actors.
