Apple’s fall device drop gets all the love, but Google wants you to remember it’s here, too — with lots of shiny new tech and some seriously impressive AI upgrades coming soon to a phone near you.

In this article, we’ll take a look at everything Google just announced and compare the Pixel 8 to the new iPhone 15.

There’s an increase of $100 from the top-tier 7 model to the Google Pixel 8 Pro (OK, it’s $999). With a price tag of a grand, it includes Google’s zippy Tensor G3 chip and a camera to rival the iPhone 15. With Zoom Enhance, you can zoom in on a picture after you have taken it and add details afterward.

A temperature sensor is another random but excellent addition that measures how hot or cold surfaces, objects, and even your forehead are.

There are three colors to choose from: black, porcelain, and light blue. The shipment is expected to arrive on October 12.

At least you’ll know your phone will last a long time if you spend all the money on it. There are seven years of OS, security, and feature drop updates for both the Google 8 and Google 8 Pro.

For most people, it comes down to which ecosystem they prefer. You know exactly how they work and are comfortable with the operating system if you’ve used them for a long time.

A Google Pixel Bud is the company’s answer to the Apple AirPods. In addition to lighter blue and porcelain colors to match the new phones, the new Buds Pro have audio upgrades for “fuller and clearer” sound. It costs $199.99.
