  • Leaders of developing and geographically vulnerable countries are concerned a deal for financial support from the COP27 climate conference could collapse.

    Talks for a fund for countries worst affected by climate change events such as flooding was expected to have been agreed by the end of the conference.

    However, no agreement has yet been done with Christian Aid claiming the US has been one of the biggest countries pushing back on plans put forward.

    Hopes are the conference will now be extended past Friday to get a deal agreed.

    @Kevin Hicks mass crop failures, flooding, extreme droughts, excessive emigration of refugees, whole species getting wiped out leading to collapses in ecosystems that contribute to survival of this planet and us, whole river systems drying up, 1.5 degrees doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you study this and go into detail of these things, it’s drastic, species can’t adapt fast enough

    Can you be so oblivious to what’s happening around you and globally, the weather patterns have changed drastically in my home country and I have only been on this earth a couple generations

    Contributions must be made however deforestation, environmental degradation, better agricultural practices, protection of water aquifers, marine and terrestrial protections, population growth better calibrated to scarcity of natural resources. Communities must convince China, India, ASEAN and EU countries to pay in substantially.
