Chris Young, a country music star who has chart-topping hits and also lost 60 pounds, is in the spotlight not only for his chart-topping hits but also for his impressive weight loss journey.

In a recent interview, the talented singer shared the challenges he faced in his fitness journey, including constantly changing his diet while on tour.

Young, 38, wrote on social media that “this year has been dedicated to working on myself, both musically and physically.”

In response to a question about what motivated him to make that change, he simply replied, “It was time.”

I knew I would be in the studio a lot, so I said, “You know what? I want to work on myself as well as the music all at the same time this year.”

Young candidly discussed how he got into the mindset of living a healthier lifestyle even though it wasn’t easy.

Young explained that he added more protein to his diet and spent more time exercising because he loves to cook.

Making multiple changes to his daily routine to maintain his health was particularly difficult for “The Man I Want to Be” crooner.

“I couldn’t cut certain things out,” Young said.

“If I was going to say I cut anything out of my diet, it was I didn’t order pizza at midnight,” he laughed.

Currently on tour, “If I Knew What Was Good For Me” singer said his band and crew members often join him in the gym.

He previously shared that he worked out at the gym before the show while posing with his gym buddies.

Young initially found mornings challenging because he had late-night performances, but he eventually began to incorporate early mornings into his daily routine.

Getting a jump start on the day and going to the gym is beneficial for me.”
