It has been revealed that Chris Evans has been diagnosed with skin cancer.

As part of his Virgin Radio breakfast show on Monday, the 57-year-old broadcaster updated his health.

The cancer was discovered “so early” and he will undergo treatment next month, he assured his listeners.

On air, Chris said, “It’s melanoma.”. This phrase is redundant because melanoma is malignant, so it is melanoma.

The good news is that it was caught so early that it should be completely treatable.

“[Treatment] will take place on 14 September,” said Chris, a running enthusiast. Since I can’t run for a month afterward, I’m going to run nonstop until then.” The NHS website describes melanoma as a cancer that is caused by ultraviolet light, which comes from the sun.

Melanoma is generally treated with surgery, especially if it is found early.

In 2019, Chris expressed concern about skin cancer following a particularly hot summer.

His doctors had told him he had “nothing to worry about”, but that he should be checked annually for the condition because of his complexion.

After eight years hosting Radio 2’s morning show, Chris joined Virgin Radio in 2018, replacing Zoe Ball.

Aside from hosting Top Gear briefly, he replaced Jeremy Clarkson with Matt LeBlanc and other familiar faces, but stepped down after one season due to mixed reviews.
