The Chinese government has begun cracking down on stray dogs, unregistered dogs, and dogs that are “oversized”.

In spite of this, the move has been widely criticized after reports that dogs without owners are being rounded up and euthanized.

A Rottweiler viciously attacked a two-year-old girl last week, shocking the nation.

She suffered a ruptured kidney, fractured ribs, and lacerations throughout her body. According to reports, she is doing well.

During the incident, the child’s mother initially placed herself between her baby and the Rottweiler, but the dog quickly moved around her and grabbed the child.

A desperate attempt is made by the mother to save her daughter. The cleaner and another worker rush to the scene armed with a mop and a large stick to assist in the rescue.

A warrant has been issued for its owner’s arrest.

There have been a number of shocking stories posted on social media and by pet owners since the mauling prompted the crackdown.

An office was entered by security guards and a landlord without the tenant’s permission, and both dogs were killed.

Earlier this week, a university in Liaoning Province fired a security guard for killing a dog on campus brutally.

Another case, which has drawn considerable attention online, shows a small, stray dog being grabbed in a net by a dog catcher, before being killed in Chongqing. A student was chased by the dog, according to university officials.
