Drone capabilities for the government will shift the power drastically, but the government doesn’t seem to be making that their priority even though that’s their biggest advantage in destroying al shabab held areas

    Mò Zi says:

@空条承太郎 that’s not soo hard to bypass esp when you have the longest coastline in africa and direct access to international airspace. Even the houthis have drones.

    空条承太郎 says:

@Mò Zi Houthis are supported by Iran because it’s in their interests. In order to receive covert arms like that, you need a powerful country with a great interest in supporting your side regardless of international perception and condemnation. Unfortunately, there is no such state in the case of Somalia.

    空条承太郎 says:

@Mò Zi also, currently the government is made up of a bunch of unelected corrupt officials who don’t represent the interests of the country, but instead the interests of their handlers in Washington and Europe.

Because, this government was installed and is maintained by the US and Europe. The Somali people actually supported the Islamic courts Union government which was successfully bringing back stability in the country back in 2006. The US and it’s ally Ethiopia invaded and installed this puppet government instead. And their entire salary and existence is owed to them.

    Rakim Ali says:

@Mò Zi – Excactly In moments of serious crisis, bypassing seems like most obvious thing to do. Especially when Al shabab themselves are researching drone technology with their vast money they have extorted from business. My serious concern is that Al shabab acquires drone capabilities before the Somalia government. Then the international community will have to deal with a crazy Al shabab government, the likes of Taliban government.

    Kyle Smith says:

@空条承太郎 Because al-Shabaab and other warlords steal more equipment than goes to the “government” of Somalia. And drones do not destroy insurgents powered by brainwashing youth and turning them into suicidal idiots.

    mike scarlett says:

    Just peace loving people yo!

    Mahmood ahmed says:

Africa union troops and Un peacekeeping forces also local military needed to be trained and funded

    Kyle Smith says:

Until the Somali people decide they want al-Shabaab out of their country, no amount of foreign aid will fix this issue. Everyone is tired of sending money and equipment that ends up in terrorist hands.

    Alishah Salim says:

Somalia government should ban the books of Mohammed bin Abdulwahhab and ibn Taymiyyah. If there is common thread between all terrorist group acting in the name of islam such as alshabaab, Boko Haram and the like,it has to be the fact that they have adopted the views that tawheed is devided into three (tawheed rubuubiyyah, tawheed uluuhiyyah, tawheed asmai wa sifaat)

    空条承太郎 says:

That’s not the problem, stop discrediting important parts of Islam out of ignorance. These militants are not acting in line with Islam, and none of the people you mentioned or their ideas will agree with these militants.
