A 10-year-old girl found murdered at home was described as “a bubbly girl” with a beautiful smile, according to her school.

A murder investigation was launched after Sara Sharif’s body was found at her family home in Woking, Surrey, early on 10 August.

As head of St Mary’s C of E primary school in Byfleet, Jacquie Chambers said Sara would be missed.

Before her body was found, three people went to Pakistan and are wanted for questioning in Islamabad.

In her words: “She was a bubbly, confident little girl who had the most beautiful smile. She was full of ideas and passionate about what she believed in.”

Sarah was a Year 5 student at the school, and the head teacher said: “We are all deeply affected by this tragedy as a school community.”.

Our thoughts, prayers, and sympathies go out to those affected by this heartbreaking news.”

Due to the police inquiry, Chambers said she was unable to comment further, but the school was supporting partner agencies in their investigations.

“Our priority now is to support our school community as they grieve and recover.” The three people sought by the police are Sara’s father, Urfan Sharif, 41, his partner, Beinash Batool, 29, and his brother, Faisal Malik, 28.

According to News, two police teams are searching for Mr Sharif in Jhelum, north Punjab.

Mr Sharif, 41, called 999 shortly after landing in Islamabad with his partner, brother, and five children, ages one to 13.

After receiving the call, officers went to the house in Woking where they found Sara’s body with “multiple and extensive injuries,” likely sustained over time.

Pakistan and the UK do not have an extradition treaty.

Sara was known to Surrey County Council and a multi-agency review is underway.

Surrey police have also searched the family’s previous address in West Byfleet.
