South Africa have named an unchanged side to face England in their World Cup semi-final on Saturday in Paris.

Last Sunday, the Springboks defeated France 29-28 in an epic quarterfinal.

Fly-half Handre Pollard remains on the bench, while half-backs Cobus Reinach and Manie Libbok remain in the starting XV.

Jacques Nienaber has once again decided to split his replacements 5-3 between forwards and backs.

In the quarter-final, Reinach replaced regular starter Faf de Klerk, who Nienaber said was better suited to deal with the French kicking game.

Four years ago, eight Springboks’ starting XV started the World Cup final win over England in Japan.

For the 15th time in a row, captain Siya Kolisi lines up alongside Pieter-Steph du Toit and Duane Vermeulen.

Until now, the Springboks have lost only to Ireland in the pool stage, while England won over Fiji last Sunday in the quarterfinals.

We’ve been building a quality team for the last few years so that we could be in this position going into the knockout stages,” Nienaber said.

“Like us, they are only one game away from the World Cup final, and we’ve seen England raise their game during these matches throughout the tournament’s history.

The average age and number of caps of our players are close. Both teams are used to playing on the biggest stage. This is a do-or-die game for either team.”

Depending on the outcome of the match, either Argentina or New Zealand will play in the final at the Stade de France on Saturday, 28 October.
