The actress has shared many candid details from her past, including her habits of shoplifting and substance abuse, as well as her brief affair with Kanye West after his divorce from Kim Kardashian.

During a candid interview, Fox recalls her childhood habit of shoplifting. With her father, Fox moved to the United States from her native Italy, leaving her mother and brother behind. When she was 5 years old, she started stealing from stores because her parents were financially strapped.

In her words, “I had no choice but to take what I wanted.”.

After the Uncut Gems star stole cash from her father, he bought her an iMac with the money.

When the actress was 11 years old, she tried marijuana for the first time. She recalls visiting her friend Ella’s house and meeting a drug dealer who supplied Ella’s often drunk mother with drugs. It was their first experience with marijuana when the dealer gave them some.

In her memoir, Foxx writes, “I feel warm and fuzzy and everything is so funny. My thoughts are more linear and I can finally hear myself think.”

Her first encounter with heroin occurred at the age of 16 during a party. The drug passed her out after she tried it. It was thus that she became addicted to the world’s most addictive substance on-again, off-again. As a result of her addiction, she lived into her 20s.

After heroin, Julia Fox describes the feeling of intoxication: “This is the feeling Lou Reed sang about in the Velvet Underground. I know I’m flirting with fire, but it’s just too damn good to resist.” It’s what William Burroughs wrote about in Junky. It’s what Sublime warned me about in ‘Wrong Way.’
