It comes just days after Tesla reported third-quarter deliveries of 435,059 vehicles, a decline from the previous quarter and below analyst expectations.

The fall was attributed to factory upgrades that caused manufacturing sites to be down.

This year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made no secret of his desire to chase higher volume over higher margins.

The stock has paid dividends this year with shares up over 100%.

This year, Tesla expects to deliver 1.8 million vehicles.
