In a one-day international against West Indies at Johannesburg in January 2015, de Villiers made 100 off 31 balls.

It was the fastest half-century by an Australian in one-day cricket by Fraser-McGurk, 21.

A maiden List A century was achieved with six fours and 12 sixes.

In 11.4 overs at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide, Fraser-McGurk helped South Australia reach 172-0 before falling to Beau Webster with 125 runs from 38 deliveries, including 13 sixes and 10 fours.

White-ball one-day cricket longer than 20 overs per side (T20) falls under List A cricket.

Fraser-McGurk’s first century in professional cricket seemed to go according to plan, as he went out with a good intention.

“I’ve made a couple of 30s playing in twos and stuff, and I felt like I’ve been hitting them reasonably, but not that well, so I definitely surprised myself.”

With 20 balls remaining, Tasmania was bowled out for 398 after scoring 435-9.

The Tasmania captain added: “It was some of the cleanest ball-striking I’ve ever seen.

It was frustrating to watch, but also amazing to watch players who can do that.”
