To counter the spread of bedbugs that have infested France, Algerian authorities have tightened health measures at its borders.

In the North African country, the health ministry announced it was disinfecting aircraft, ships, and vehicles at entry points.

The high number of people traveling from France raises concerns that the blood-sucking insects could enter Algeria.

However, the ministry urged vigilance despite no bedbug infestations reported in the country.

A number of measures have already been announced by Morocco to limit the spread of bedbugs in its country.

Concerns have been raised about health and safety during next year’s Olympic Games due to the bedbug infestation in Paris and other cities in France.
