Blair Kinghorn insists Scotland will end Ireland’s 16-match winning run when the sides meet in their decisive World Cup Pool B match in Paris on Saturday.

After defeating defending champions South Africa, the Irish top the world rankings and are considered favourites for the trophy.

The Scots have not beaten Ireland in their last eight attempts, but full-back Kinghorn says this will change in the future.

The game is a win or go home situation. Everyone is excited about it,” Kinghorn said.

The team has been in good form recently, but we will put an end to that on Saturday.”

At the Stade de France on Saturday, Jamie Ritchie believes the Scots can send shockwaves through the tournament by knocking out the favorites.

A lot of people wrote us off when we entered this pool, Ritchie said.

“It has always been difficult for us to get out of it, but we have the belief and it’s still there at the ready for Saturday.”

“We believe we can go there, do enough to get out of the pool, and keep our World Cup alive. If we lose, we’re going home.”.

As a result, the pressure is off in that sense, as we know our position and aren’t dependent on anyone else.”
