She is also suing Disney, Miramax, and her former talent agency for failing to protect her.

New York allows sex cases to be filed outside of the statute of limitations under a law.

Currently, Weinstein is serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape.

After Weinstein’s attack, Ormond claims that her career never recovered from her roles in First Knight, Smilla’s Sense of Snow and Sabrina.

In the suit, she claims that Weinstein stripped naked and forced her to perform oral sex on him after they returned from a business dinner.

Having properly supervised Weinstein and not retaining him knowing that he was a danger to women, Miramax and Disney could have prevented Ormond’s sexual assault.

Weinstein’s lawyer Imran Ansari told the Associated Press that his client “categorically denies the allegations made against him by Julia Ormond and is prepared to vigorously defend himself”.

In addition, Ormond is suing her former talent agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for failing to warn her about Weinstein’s abuse and suggesting she would not be believed if she reported Weinstein to the authorities.

CAA lost interest in representing Ormond not long after Weinstein’s assault on her and her reporting of the assault to them,” the lawsuit adds.

It was devastating to Ormond’s career, both personally and professionally, as a result of Weinstein’s assault,” he said.
