Labor Day is here, which means summer is winding down and schools are reopening.

On the first Monday in September, workers are also honored for their contributions to the US economy and the American labor movement.

Due to it being a bank holiday, many Americans will be traveling or hosting their last summer barbecue. If you have errands to run, here are the businesses and institutions that will be open and closed on Monday, September 4.

The grocery store will be mostly open to those who need to run there. Retailers such as Walmart (WMT), Target (CBDY) and Kroger (KR) will continue to operate as usual.

Most Walgreens and CVS (CVS) stores will be open during normal business hours as well. CVS (CVS) warned customers to call ahead since some pharmacies may have reduced hours, and others may be closed.

There will be a closure at Costco (COST).

Mail can’t be sent through the United States Postal Service on Monday, as the carrier will be closed. Additionally, UPS will be closing all services except Express Critical. FedEx Custom Critical, its premium service for special shipments, will be operating, and FedEx Office hours will be altered.

There are 11 federal banking holidays, including Labor Day, so banks will not be open. There will, however, be ATMs and online banking services available.

There will also be a blackout on the US stock market. There will be no trading on the NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange.
